J.; Bello, A.; Domínguez, Á.; Romero Chacón, R.In the scope of W-STEM ERASMUS + Capacity-building in Higher Education European Project (Ref. 598923-EPP-1-2018-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), the W-STEM International Leadership Summit was celebrated in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia on November 25-26, 2019. One of the developed activities was a World Café with the primary goal of stimulating a collective brainstorming for suggesting for institutional strategies and actions for the next stage of the Erasmus+ W-STEM project.Item Women and STEM disciplines in Latin America: The W-STEM European Project(IGI Global, 2019-09-20) García-Peñalvo, F. J.According to UNESCO, women account for a minority of the world’s researchers; in 2013, only 28.4% of total persons employed in Research and Development were women, data confirming the gender disparity in science. The Latin-American and the Caribbean region shows essential differences among countries. While some seem to have good numbers of women working in science, as a percentage of total researchers, such as Argentina, 52%; Venezuela, 56%; and Bolivia, 62%; others like Honduras, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador and Chile achieve low rates with around 30%.Item W-STEM Action Points(W-STEM consortium, 2019-03-27) García-Peñalvo, F.
